Hapoel Jerusalem made its first step forward in the three-game-series against Gran Canaria and prevailed 87-67.
Dyson finished the game with 20 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds for the winners, while Amar’e Stoudemire followed with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Tarence Kinsey also scored 14.
Bo McCalebb led the visitors with 12 points, Kyle Kuric finished with 10.
The Spanish team kept a brief 5-point head at 5′, 8-13 and even managed to lead the first period 16-17. Dyson gave the hosts their first broad lead 34-24 at 16′, but Canaria trimmed it before halftime and was down by one point, 39-38.
Hapoel kept being in charge of the game in the second half and at 32′ it was a 10-point game again, with the Israelis leading 72-62.
