According to “Le Parisien“, the management of the team is dissapointed and has a applied for a place in the Eurocup.

“Like many other French clubs we have received the paperwork for competing in the Eurocup”, explained the president Jean Donnadieu. “We have won the FIBA Europe Cup and we still have to play a preliminary round in order to compete in the Basketball Champions League. This is not normal. No matter the sport, when you win a trophy, you also get the chance to compete in the superior league. Winning the FIBA Europe Cup didn’t give us anything. Every year the rules are changing. We hope that the whole situation can be solved, but we also have to protest the interests of our club”.

According to the report, Nanterre spend more than 100.000 euros in order to compete in the FIBA Europe Cup, the fourth tier club competition in Europe, without gaining anything.
