Darussafaka Istanbul qualified for the 7DaysEuroCup Finals. David Blatt’s team defeated Bayern Munich 83 – 87, in Game 2, thanks to an all-time great performance from Scottie Wilbekin.

With four minutes remaining, the game was tied (71-71). Wilbekin and Ozmirkak scored two crucial three-pointers to put the visitors up by four points (74-79). With 1:30 minutes remaining, the 24-year old hit another incredible deep three-pointer to put Bayern down seven points (74-82). The home side, however, responded with a three of its own to make it a one-possession game (81-84). Wilbekin had the final word, he came right back and scored a mid-range jumper to end Bayern’s hopes (81-86).

Scottie Wilbekin was in a zone of his own. As Eurohoops had pointed out, he was one player to keep an eye on in the semifinals and on Friday he was just unbelievable. The 24-year old guard finished the game with a career and semifinals EuroCup high 41 (!) points (4/8 2p.), making 10/15 three-pointers, but also coming up huge in the clutch. He also added five assists and two steals. It is interesting to note that he had 22 points in the first half and 19 in the second. JaJuan Johnson added 15 for the winners.

After the game, Wilbekin said the following about his game: “That’s the most points I ever scored. The threes were falling tonight. They didn’t really fall in the first game, but they were falling tonight, so I just let it fly.”

For the losing side, Devin Booker finished the game with 13 points and six rebounds.

Both teams were challenging its other, in the first twenty minutes of the contest, despite Bayern’s impressive start in the first period (14-6). Scottie Wilbekin, could not stop scoring for the visitors, and thus the game was close at the half (44-41).
