Zoran Dragic set the tone with 20 points in the first half and Ratiopharm Ulm played with fire but didn’t got burn in the 103-89 win over feisty Maccabi Rishon LeZion, as the two teams are tied at 1-4 in 7Days EuroCup Group A.

Despite Dragic’s effort who finished the night with 33 points and one more good game by NBA prospect Killian Haynes (15 p. 6 r. 9 as. 3 st. 6 t/o), the hosts managed to get an eight points lead by tooth and claw at halftime (55-47).

The Israelis’ answer was a 12-0 run to start the second half with Alex Hamilton making eight of those points. Maccabi got a 59-55 lead, but at the end of the third, Ulm was back in the lead with a seven-point advantage (75-68). That ultimately proved to be enough with Derek Willis adding 19 points, 16 rebounds and five assists for the winning side.

Hamilton finished the game with 18 points, Jordan Swing was the top scorer of the losing side with 20, Frederic Bourdillon scored 17 and Oz Blayzer added 15 points, however, Ulm kept its distance until the end.
