Maccabi Tel Aviv star forward Omri Casspi has traveled to the USA for further evaluation on his injured knee and will return in about a week and a half, the Israeli club announced. The “Yellows'” team captain had been out of action due to persistent knee problems following a bone bruise since November.

Casspi signed with Maccabi in offseason to return to the club following a 10-year stint in the NBA. The Israeli player has appeared in six EuroLeague games and averaged 12.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists and 1.3 steals in 21:14 minutes.

Maccabi is currently 12 – 6 in EuroLeague and tied with reigning champion CSKA Moscow at the fourth spot in the standings.
