After making the 2019 Final, this season Anadolu Efes will be satisfied only with winning the championship.

The away victory of Anadolu Efes over Real Madrid for Round 21 of the EuroLeague regular season can pretty much define what you might call as a “statement win.”

Real Madrid was previously undefeated at home in EuroLeague this season. Efes managed to do what no other team in the competition had done, despite missing such key players as guard Vasilije Micic and center Bryant Dunston.

And that says something about the team’s strength and potential, according to Efes forward Chris Singleton.

“We are not 100% but we are still able to come here being together as a team and win,” Singleton told Eurohoops.

Thanks to the win over Real, Efes has become the big favorite to finish with the first seed in the EuroLeague regular season. The 2019 runner-up is now 18-3 while second-placed CSKA Moscow, the defending champion, plus Real and Barcelona stand at 15 – 6. “I think that’s put us two-three games ahead. We still have a long way to go. Our goal is to win the championship this year. This should give us more confidence,” Singleton said to Eurohoops.
