Both Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and Greece’s Basket League are currently suspended due to the coronavirus crisis. With no scheduled games for Panathinaikos OPAP, Jimmer Fredette’s family opted to follow the example set by the Greens’ head coach, Rick Pitino, and return to the USA. Whitney Fredette, the wife of the former BYU standout, revealed their decision via a post on Instagram.

Tyrese Rice also went on social media wishing his career does not end because of a virus. The 32-year-old point guard wondered via Twitter if the end of his playing career will be marked by COVID-19: “End my career because of a virus. I need the hoop Gods to take care of this. Family first though.”

Not only Rice, but players, fans, and everybody involved with basketball and sports hope for the current situation to be resolved. However, games being postponed or canceled can dictate various American players including Fredette and Rice to return to their homeland.
