Barcelona center and team captain Ante Tomic commented on the salary cuts that he and all the players of the club took due to the suspension of all sports activities due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“I honestly think we are privileged,” Tomic said in an interview for Barcelona’s website. “A lot of people have lost their jobs, they live worse than us – the players – and what we did was the least we could do.”

“This period of confinement may be extended and it is very important for us to be able to play,” Tomic also mentioned. “We need to prepare for the end of the season but it all depends on the emergency status and what happens with the coronavirus

Anadolu Efes guard/forward and Tomic’s fellow Croatian player Krunoslav Simon had talked about spending time with his family as one positive aspect of the confinement. Something similar is the case with Tomic. “The positive part is that I can be with my wife and daughters now. We try to do fun things with them and make the most of this time we are together.”
