Antalya or Istanbul are added to the list of potential hosts for the final stage of the 2019-20 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season, according to Serbian outlet Nova.rs. The Turkish cities’ candidacies are backed by Turkish Airlines, the main sponsor of Europe’s premier club competition.

Euroleague Basketball, following its conference call with players (the captain and one senior player from each team) on Saturday, will decide whether to resume action on Monday. The plan is to restart the campaign with the 18 clubs playing all remaining regular-season games and completing the season with a Final Eight tournament instead of the traditional Final Four.

Greece, Serbia, Germany, and Lithuania were considered as potential venues for the above contests, as previously reported. Turkey is added to the list with the Turkish Airlines ready to finance all remaining matches, provided those games are played in Istanbul or Antalya.

Euroleague Basketball will hold a press conference following Monday’s ECA Shareholders Executive Board meeting to inform on the decisions taken. The 11 teams with an A license will vote if they want to resume the season or not.
