EuroLeague imposed a fine on Andrea Trinchieri for his reaction towards the referees in Bayern’s game against Olympiacos

EuroLeague Basketball imposed a 3,500€ fine on Andrea Trichieri for actions that represented a “lack of respect” towards the referees of Bayern’s Round 18 game against Olympiacos in Piraeus. Trinchieri insisted that in his team’s last possession of the game, Paul Zipser was fouled when attempted to shoot a three-pointer.

Baskonia Sports Director Felix Fernandez and President Jose Antonio Querejeta were also sanctioned by the league, for the team’s home game against CSKA Moscow.

Euroleague Basketball has announced disciplinary sanctions pertaining to incidents that occurred in a Round 18 games of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season. The sanctions are based on infractions of the competition bylaws that all teams are aware of and obliged to fulfill.

• Mr Felix Fernandez, Sports Director, and Mr José Antonio Querejeta, President of TD Systems Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz have been sanctioned with fines of 4,500€ and 3,500€ respectively for actions that represent a lack of respect towards the officiating crew on occasion of its home game against CSKA Moscow under Article 27.2.b) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.

• Mr Andrea Trinchieri, head coach of FC Bayern Munich has been sanctioned with a fine of 3,500€ for actions that represent a lack of respect towards the officiating crew on the occasion of its away game against Olympiacos Piraeus under Article 27.2.b) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
