Weather conditions in Spain’s capital prevented Crvena Zvezda mts from receiving clearance to start the trip to Madrid and the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 19 game versus Real Madrid was postponed. Makeup date options include Sunday or Monday, according to Mozzart Sport.

Per Euroleague Basketball: “The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 19 between Real Madrid and Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade that was scheduled to be played on Wednesday, January 13 at 21:00 CET, has been suspended due to the inability of Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade to reach the Spanish capital, where the game was to be held.

Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade’s flight didn’t receive the clearance from Spanish authorities due to the exceptional bad weather conditions that Spain has experienced since last Friday, limiting the number of flights arriving and departing from the airport.

Euroleague Basketball will evaluate with the affected teams the best possible options to reschedule the game based on available dates and TV rightsholders’ production availability. Further information will be released as warranted in the coming days.”

The biggest snowfall in at least 50 years previously delayed AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milano’s return to Italy following the away win over Real Madrid last week. This time around pushes back the Round 19 contest originally scheduled to take place Wednesday.

The Serbian outlet, similar to the rest of the EuroLeague field, was going through a double-game week with a road game against Valencia planned to take place Friday.
