Zalgiris Kaunas announced that center Marek Blazevic, 18, tested positive for COVID-9. The rest of the team underwent tests which all returned negative.

The Zalgiris squd will test for coronavirus once again Thursday, one day before the EuroLeague match vs. Olympiacos Piraeus.

Per Zalgiris:

The COVID-19 test came back positive for Marek Blazevic, Zalgiris Kaunas found out on Wednesday. The tests from other players and staff came back negative.

After Monday’s game in the King Mindaugas Cup, the players had the next day off.

Blazevic felt slight symptoms, so he stayed at home and did not participate in Wednesday’s practice sessions, later being tested individually.

The rest of the team was then tested and Wednesday’s tests came back negative.

The green-and-whites will be tested again on Thursday and if the tests come back negative, they will be allowed to play in Friday’s EuroLeague game against Olympiacos.
