Dinos Mitoglou put on a career performance against Khimki and has earned the EuroLeague MVP of the Week

Dinos Mitoglou set several career highs in Panathinaikos‘ win over Khimki and earned the EuroLeague MVP honors for this week.

He posted 29 points and 12 rebounds including eight on the offensive side. His index rating of 42 matched the third-best both this season and in Panathinaikos‘ history.

Young star-in-the-making Konstantinos Mitoglou dominated for Panathinaikos OPAP Athens in a 94-78 home win over Khimki Moscow Region on Thursday to claim his first Turkish Airlines EuroLeague MVP of the Week honor. In his fourth season and 79th EuroLeague game, Mitoglou set several career highs, including 29 points, 9 free throws made and a performance index rating of 42, which matched the third-best individual mark both this season and in Panathinaikos history. The 24-year-old forward also pulled 8 offensive boards, tying his previous best, among his 12 total rebounds. Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul guard Nando De Colo accumulated a PIR of 38, second-best this week, in an exciting 83-89 road win over his former team, CSKA Moscow. De Colo scored 22 points, missing just 1 shot all night, while also collecting 9 assists, 4 steals and 2 rebounds. Tyler Dorsey starred in Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv’s dramatic 86-84 home win over Real Madrid with career highs of 30 points and 36 PIR to go along with 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Fenerbahce center Jan Vesely had an index rating of 32, collecting 24 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks against CSKA. And rounding this week’s best performances, Khimki big man Jordan Mickey had a PIR of 30 based on his 25 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks in his team’s loss at Panathinaikos.

Individual highs: Tyler Dorsey of Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv, 30 points
Dorsey led all scorers this week with 30 points. CSKA guard Mike James remains the EuroLeague’s overall scoring leader with 20.0 points per game. Mitoglou’s 12 rebounds were the most in all games played this week. CSKA center Nikola Milutinov continues atop the rankings with 8.5 boards per game. Real Madrid‘s Nicolas Laprovittola led all players with 10 assists in a rescheduled Round 19 game played on Monday. Khimki’s Alexey Shved tops the assists charts with 7.8 on average. Five players had 4 steals this week: De Colo, Jayson Granger of ALBA Berlin, Luca Vildoza of TD Systems Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz and Khimki’s Errick McCollum in Round 21, and Olympiacos Piraeus center Hassan Martin in his team’s rescheduled Round 10 game on Tuesday. Pierria Henry of TD Systems Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz leads for the season with 2.0 steals per game. Sasha Vezenkov of Olympiacos Piraeus had 3 blocks in his team’s Round 10 overtime win on Tuesday against ASVEL. Panathinaikos center Georgios Papagiannis is the EuroLeague’s top shot-blocker with 1.95 per contest. There were three double-doubles this week: Laprovittola had 10 points and 10 assists, Mitoglou had 29 points plus 12 rebounds, and Zenit St Petersburg center Arturas Gudaitis collected 11 points and 10 rebounds.
