Giorgos Bartzokas thrown out from Olympiacos recent game against FC Barcelona resulted in a 6,000€ fine

Euroleague Basketball in its latest Regular Season disciplinary sanctions fined Olympiacos head coach Giorgos Bartzokas due to lack of respect towards the officials, as noted in Tuesday’s press release. The Greek head coach was ejected in the final seconds of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 23 match against FC Barcelona.

Per Euroleague Basketball: “Euroleague Basketball has announced disciplinary sanctions pertaining to incidents that occurred in a rescheduled Round 23 game of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season. The sanctions are based on infractions of the competition bylaws that all teams are aware of and obliged to fulfill.

• Mr. Giorgios Bartzokas, head coach of Olympiacos Piraeus has been sanctioned with a fine of 6,000€ for actions that represent a lack of respect towards the officiating crew on the occasion of its home game against FC Barcelona under Article 27.2.b) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.”
