ALBA Berlin picks up young center Christ Koumadje

Christ Koumadje penned a contract with ALBA Berlin until the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, the German club announced Thursday.

Koumadje, 24, is eligible for both Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and easyCredit BBL effective immediately.

“ALBA is a club with a great history. The coaches and the whole staff have a very good reputation,” noted the newcomer, “It’s a great opportunity for me. I am very happy to be in Berlin. I am looking forward to proving myself at the highest level in the German league and EuroLeague. Especially in the EuroLeague, the level is extremely high and the league is very exciting and demanding.”

The Chadian center standing at 2.21m went undrafted in 2019 coming out of Florida State. He spent one season in the G League with the Delaware Blue Coats before introducing himself to European fans through Avtodor Saratov and Movistar Estudiantes at the beginning of the ongoing 2020-21 season. The 2020 G League Defensive Player of the Year averaged 1.2 points per appearance in both the ACB and VTB United League.
