FC Bayern Munich snapped back from last week’s defeat to take down Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv with a narrow 72-70 victory at home for Round 26 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

Wade Baldwin’s major contribution in the fourth quarter helped the hosts get ahead with a four-point lead with just a minute left, as he exited the court with a total of 16 points and five assists.

A pair of free throws by Nick Weiler-Babb sealed the final win for the hosts, as Scottie Wilbekin couldn’t tie the score with just 7 seconds remaining in the game.

Jalen Reynolds added up to Baldwin’s efforts with 15 points and Paul Zipser had 10 points for Andrea Trinchieri’s squad. Bayern moves up to a 16-10 record and has now won four of its last five games.

“It’s obviously a special night for me playing against a former team. It’s always fun playing against a team you played for in the past. I just wanted to have a chip on my shoulder tonight as far as being an all-around teammate, passing the ball, finishing when they hit me. This is a special night and I’m happy that we got the win”, said Reynolds after the win against his former team.

On the other end of the court, Ante Zizic posted a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds for Maccabi, while Scottie Wilbekin had 10 points. The Israeli side has suffered back-to-back defeats after missing two games due to COVID-19 positives and falls further down the standings with a 10-14 record.
