Zenit signs Mateusz Ponitka to three-year extension

Mateusz Ponitka will stay with Zenit until 2024.

Zenit St. Petersburg announced that the club signed swingman Mateusz Ponitka to a three-year extension.

Ponitka averaged 8.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 25:58 minutes in the EuroLeague regular season and was a key player in Zenit making the playoffs for the first time in the history of the club. He didn’t manage to play in the quarterfinal series against Barcelona due to injury.

Zenit acquired Ponitka in 2019 after the his with Lokomotiv Kuban. The 27-year-old Polish player was previously member of such teams as Zielona Gora, Pinar Karsiyaka and Tenerife.
