Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv brings in former player Doron Perkins to work in the staff of Giannis Sfairopoulos

Doron Perkins has inked a deal with Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv to become an assistant coach for the next season, the team announced Monday.

Perkins, 38, in recent years was attached to the Brooklyn Nets. H was the assistant coach of the Long Island Nets in the G League, responsible for scouting and player development.

“It’s amazing to have the opportunity to return to Maccabi,” he said, per the press release, “I want to thank coach Giannis Sfairopoulos, the management, and the entire club. I aim to work hard and help the team continue being successful.”

As a player, he joined Maccabi from 2009 to 2011 making it to the EuroLeague championship game in 2011. He was crowned champion with Olympiacos a couple of years later.
