Nigel Hayes and coach Sarunas Jasikevicius are expected to be reunited. Hayes, a former player of Saras in Zalgiris Kaunas, after getting a workout with the Boston Celtics, returns to Europe, this time for FC Barcelona.
According to Eurohoops sources, the two sides are near a deal that is expected to be finalized soon. Hayes was aiming for a deal in the NBA, however, playing for a club like Barcelona and aiming for a Euroleague title is a good enough reason to return to Europe at least for one more season.
The 26-years old forward (2,03 m.) was also linked with Panathinaikos and Monaco recently, but Barcelona – which was also in talks with him for quite some time – is expected to add him to their roster.
Hayes played for the Westchester Knicks, the Lakers, the Raptors, and the Kings, before moving to Europe in 2018 and playing for Galatasaray and Zalgiris Kaunas, winning the Lithuanian league championship title.
