A lot has been rumored since Tuesday about the meeting of the EuroLeague clubs without Jordi Bertomeu. And most of those rumors, especially those regarding FIBA, are false.

What’s true however is that, according to Eurohoops sources, a three-member committee has been created and it has initiated the search for a new CEO.

There was no vote on the matter, but on the other hand, there was no objection to the process. That move means that the 2021-22 season is expected to be the last of Jordi Bertomeu as EuroLeague CEO.

However, according to EuroLeague sources, despite the process, there’s still no agreement on the matter of finding a new CEO

That was one of the main issues of discussions and there’s no intention from any of the 13 clubs which took part in the meeting to leave the competition.

While FIBA has initiated talks including the EuroLeague and the NBA for the future of basketball in Europe, the EuroLeague clubs remain united and their wish is for the competition to evolve and grow even stronger.
