Maccabi Tel Aviv announced Saturday (8/1) that a “number” of players plus a team member tested positive for COVID-19. Their upcoming Israeli Winner League game against Ness Ziona was postponed as a result.

This week Maccabi is scheduled to host ALBA Berlin for Round 20 of the EuroLeague regular season on 12/1 and then travel to Athens to face Panathinaikos. If the Israeli powerhouse is unable to register eight players, then these games will be postponed, as it has already happened with four Round 20 matches.

This is the second coronavirus crisis that Maccabi is facing over the last four months. Back in September and amid the thick of preseason, multiple players of the Yellows caught the virus and the team had to cancel appearances in preparation tournaments.
