Coach Ergin Ataman was fined 15,000 euros for committing acts representing a lack of respect in the game against Barcelona when he was ejected

Euroleague Basketball announced disciplinary sanctions for recent matches, including fines for Panathinaikos OPAP (€6,000) as well as Anadolu Efes coach Ergin Ataman.

Ataman was fined 15,000 euros for “committing acts representing a lack of respect”. The incident in question was Ataman’s behavior leading to an ejection, as well as the manner in which he left the arena, shouting and gesticulating “I won the Cup” at Barca fans.

Per Euroleague Basketball:

Euroleague Basketball has announced the following disciplinary sanction pertaining to incidents that occurred in Rounds 20 and 21 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague regular season.

PANATHINAIKOS OPAP ATHENS has been sanctioned with a fine of €6,000 for the throwing of objects onto the playing court on occasion of its home game against CSKA Moscow under Article 29.2.h) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.

– Mr ERGIN ATAMAN, Head Coach of ANADOLU EFES ISTANBUL has been sanctioned with a fine of €15,000 for conduct committing acts representing a lack of respect on occasion of its home game against FC Barcelona under Article 27.2.b) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
