Dwayne Bacon is not a Panathinaikos player anymore, with the US guard having fallen into several disciplinary offenses.

The latest was his violent behavior toward his teammate in practice with Bacon himself, speaking on Instagram Live, admitting that he hit Lefteris Mandzoukas, stressing that the latter provoked him.

In addition, he made it clear that he did not drink on the now infamous night out with Mike James in Monaco while hinting that he has relevant evidence.

However, Bacon also said that outside his house in Athens, as well as those of Paris Lee and Derrick Williams, there was security placed by the club.

He emphasized that he has received threats – even in the locker room – for his physical integrity if he had left the house after a defeat.

The presence of security outside Bacon’s house is also confirmed by the club which emphasizes, however, that this was done at his own prompting, as he allegedly informed that he receives threats because of what he did on his nights out.

Bacon said in detail:”I averaged 17 points per game, the most on the team. Don’t believe everything you hear. I’ve been through a lot of weird situations so I don’t mind going home early since I’m still getting my money. It’s a win-win situation. Tell the Greek journalists to write this.

They put four security guards outside my home and told them to break my legs if I left. All because we lost the game as if it was just my fault, not the whole team’s. They came to the locker room and said these things, threatening us, they put security guards outside of my home, Paris Lee’s, and Derrick Williams’ house. But I was there, playing even with injuries”

Panathinaikos reacted after Bacon’s accusations with the following statement: “For months we tried to protect him and the team’s reputation from the unheard-of things that were happening. Unfortunately, however, we were forced to end our cooperation with a man who never respected the team, the rules, and the locker rooms. In a group, there are internal regulations for nights out, consumption of alcohol, drugs, schedules, behaviors, violence, and everything that concerns daily life. There is no one in Panathinaikos who does not respect the values of the club. In closing, even at this time, we will not go into any further details out of respect for anyone who has been a member of our club’s family.”
