Anadolu Efes‘s general manager, Alper Yilmaz, recently stated that Amath M’Baye’s status with the club would be known soon. Now it is official, the 33-year-old power forward is departing from the Turkish champions.

We thank Amath Mbaye for his efforts and contributions in winning two trophies during the previous season, and we wish him success in the next chapter of his career,” as per the official statement.

M’Baye signed with Anadolu Efes last summer, following three years with Pinar Karsiyaka. He helped Ergin Ataman’s team secure the Turkish Super Cup and Turkish League titles.

The experienced Frenchman appeared in 15 games in the EuroLeague, averaging seven points and 2.8 rebounds. M’Baye made a more significant impact in the domestic league, scoring 12 points with 4.9 rebounds per game in the BSL.

Following their victory over Pinar Karsiyaka in the Turkish finals, Anadolu Efes entered a new era with coach Erdem Can taking the reins from Ergin Ataman. Several players have already left the club, with Derek Willis being the latest addition to the team.
