Olimpia Milano has reached an agreement until 2024 with Alex Poythress, as the Italian champions officially confirmed.
The 29-year-old center played for Maccabi Tel Aviv last season, averaging 7.8 points and shooting 59.0% from the field, with 3.6 rebounds per game, contributing to the Israeli championship triumph.
“I’m excited to play for a historic club like Olimpia Milano and happy to compete for championships at the highest level, including in the EuroLeague. So, I feel ready to get started,” Alex Poythress said.
The US center is the fourth addition to Olimpia’s roster this summer, joining Maodo Lo, Guglielmo Caruso, and Ismael Kamagate. Shavon Shields, Giampaolo Ricci, and Kyle Hines have also signed new deals with the club.
“Poythress fits well with the type of team we have in mind, with a high level of physicality among the big men. He is a player who can play two positions and has performed well in his previous experiences in the EuroLeague,” Olimpia’s general manager Christos Stavropoulos said.
