Maccabi Tel Aviv big man Josh Nebo got a second passport that may permit him in the future to play with Nigeria, or in Spain under a special status

Josh Nebo has been granted a Nigerian passport, as agency Beobasket announced, which gives him quite a few options in the future.

The 26-year-old Nebo who has a contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv for the upcoming season, has emerged as a solid EuroLeague player and thanks to this passport his status in Spain has changed.

Due to the Cotonou agreement, players from specific African, Pacific, and Caribbean countries have gained communitarian status in the Spanish Liga ACB. This gives an even bigger value to Nebo if he moves to a Spanish club in the future, due to the foreign players’ rules of the domestic league.

Plus, Nebo has the chance to play for the Nigerian national team, if he is called as a naturalized player.
