Carsen Edwards scored 20 points on 5-7 threes as Bayern Munich beat Partizan Belgrade 99 – 95 to win third place in the 2023 edition of the Pavlos Giannakopoulos preseason tournament.

Edwards also delivered some key buckets down and defensive plays down the stretch to help Bayern get the victory. Andreas Obst contributed 16 points for the Bavarian powerhouse while Isaac Bonga posted 11 points plus 10 rebounds and Sylvain Francisco added 11 points of his own.

James Nunnally led Partizan with 20 points. Frank Kaminsky delivered 15 points plus nine rebounds, Alen Smailagic scored 13 and Uros Trifunovic dropped 11 points.

“It was a useful experience,” said Partizan coach Zeljko Obradovic after the game. His team will begin the 2023-24 EuroLeague at Maccabi Tel Aviv on 5/10 while Bayern is hosting fellow German side ALBA Berlin the same day.
