Big news from Panathainikos’ owner

Panathinaikos defeated Olympiacos in the Greek derby, and Dimitris Giannakopoulos brought more good news to the fans with announcing the arrival of a four-year NBA guard, Kendrick Nunn.

He posted on social media, confirming that Nunn is the new player of Ergin Ataman’s team.
From today the athlete Nunn is a member of Panathinaikos,” Giannakopoulos said, and Panathinaikos confirmed the deal with the the 28-year-old guard until the end of 2023/24 season.

Nunn played for three years at the University of Illinois and was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman team in the 2013-14 season, while completing his collegiate career at Oakland University. In his last season there he averaged 25.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists.

After going undrafted in 2018, and playing in G League for Santa Cruz Warriors, in April 2019 he signed with the Miami Heat and in the 2019-20 season and averaged 15.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 67 games, eventually being selected to NBA All-Rookie First Team.

After two years at Florida, he signed a two-year $10 million contract with Los Angeles Lakers, who eventually traded him in January 2023 to Washington Wizards for Rui Hachimura. In four years he recorded 193 regular season games, averaging 12,1 points.
