Negotiations between Olympiacos, Zalgiris Kaunas, and Naz Mitrou-Long are came to a fruitful end.

The Greek club’s twofold objective to enhance the team’s backcourt and to introduce one more Greek player to Olympiacos is completed. There was no buyout for Mitrou-Long’s release, and the Piraues team officialy announcements a three-year deal with the 30-year-old guard.

Zalgiris decided to part ways with the former Olimpia Milano player and practically move his current contract to Olympiacos, and obviously they are in the market to replace him with the money saved from his salaries for the rest of the season.

Mitrou-Long, who joined Kaunas from Olimpia Milano this summer, has struggled to secure a significant role in Kazys Maksvytis’ rotation, averaging around 10 minutes per game. His stats include 4.1 points per game with a shooting percentage of 47.4% on two-pointers and 28.6% on three-pointers. Additionally, he contributed 1.2 rebounds and one assist on average.

He initiated the legal procedures for obtaining Greek citizenship and is poised to receive his Greek passport soon, enabling him to compete for Olympiacos without delay in the Greek league as a domestic player. Per EuroLeague rules, he will be eligible to play in the second half of the regular season with last season’s finalists.
