Confirming reports on reinforcing the squad with Jordan Theodore, Baskonia officially added the 34-year-old point guard on Wednesday.

The newcomer inked a contract for the remainder of the 2023-24 season, the team announced.

The New Jersey native, Seton Hall product, carries the experience of 23 games played in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague through his stint with AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan in 2017-18. Six years after logging 23 games played, including 21 starts, he is back in Europe’s premier club continental competition.

The EuroCup and 30 games played alongside 36 appearances in the Basketball Champions League and 18 in the FIBA Europe Cup shape further action at the continental level in Europe. Focusing on France’s Betclic Elite so far this season, he tallied 13.3 points, 3.9 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per contest with Metropolitans 92.

Moving to the team based in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Theodore reunites with 66-year-old head coach Dusko Ivanovic. Early in the 2019-20 season, they partnered at Besiktas Sompo Japan.

Reacting to the injury of Chris Chiozza amid a battle to extend the continental campaign beyond the Regular Season of the EuroLeague, Baskonia picked up a new point guard hoping to improve the 12-10 record. At 11-8 in Spain’s Liga Endesa makes a tie with UCAM Murcia in the sixth spot of the standings.

Markus Howard, Sander Raieste, Tadas Sedekerskis, Vanja Marinkovic, Codi Miller-McIntyre, Dani Diez, Nikos Rogkavopoulos, Khalifa Diop, Maik Kotsar, Matt Costello, and Chima Moneke are Theodore’s new teammates.
