Reaching game by game the all-time leading scorer position in the EuroLeague, being only 11 points away from tying Vassilis Spanoulis’ record, Mike James can also celebrate being named MVP of the Month for February, where he led AS Monaco to a perfect 2-0 record before the break.
He literally led his team, being the best on Sasa Obradovic‘s side in five different statistical categories over three games (they beat Barcelona on March 1): points (20.3), rebounds (6.0), assists (3.7), steals (1.7), and PIR (22.6).
Overall, he has been playing one of the greatest seasons of his stellar EuroLeague career by averaging 19.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game, shooting 49.8% from two, 41.5% from three, and 76.9% at the line.
It’s the 5th time that Mike James has received such honors since the beginning of his EuroLeague career, trailing only Nikola Mirotic – 1st all-time with seven. In the past, he was named EuroLeague MVP of the Month in February 2019, November 2020, March 2022, and October 2022.
