As officially confirmed by the club, Jabari Parker and Barcelona have reached an agreement to renew the American power forward’s contract until 2026.

The former No. 2 NBA draft pick joined Barcelona last summer on a one-year deal, but after a successful season, he has agreed to a two-year extension.

I am very grateful. From the first moment I came to Barcelona, I had good feelings, good matches, and experiences. I want to continue these positive times for more years here in Barcelona. It was very easy to make this decision. I would have made this decision 10 times if I had had the chance. I think it’s the best decision,” Parker said.

The 29-year-old power forward averaged 10.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and a Player Index Rating (PIR) of 9.3 in 33 EuroLeague appearances, 11.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, and a PIR of 10.6 in 28 games in the ACB League.

“I did the best I could, and I want to return this intensity to the fans. My goal for the next two seasons is to give 100%, give all my dedication to the court, and give back everything I can to the fans,” the former Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards, Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings, and Boston Celtics player added.

EuroLeague Playoffs and Life in Barcelona

Parker and Barcelona are now entering the crucial part of the season, beginning with the EuroLeague Playoffs against Olympiacos next week.

I hope we will be intense, with the fans, with energy. Both teams are playing to win the title.

Off the court, Jabari is endeavoring to adapt as much as possible to Barcelona.

My life in Barcelona is fantastic. I love it both for the quality of life and the food.

The former star of Duke College is using public transportation to get to know the city and its people better.

I have chosen not to have a car because I am in a city where it is very easy to get around. I don’t have to worry about the car. I take the train because I understand my God-given privilege. People on the bus don’t have a choice, so I’m grateful to be able to take the train and subway because I choose to. But I also enjoy being with people; it gives me good energy when I see people every day and have the opportunity to walk down the street. This also allows me to be a part of Barcelona and to be a citizen in Barcelona. This is what I try to do. I try to be more local,” Jabari Parker concluded.
