Supporters of Fenerbahce Beko gathering at the hotel to welcome their favorite team in Berlin also chanted against the Turkish head coach of Panathinaikos Aktor, Ergin Ataman.

Despite local police arriving immediately, the tension inside the hotel persisted for nearly one hour.

The Turkish ambassador was also present at the hotel to clear out the situation. There was even tension between local police and coach Ataman with a policeman trying to move him, pushing him and as a result he tripped on the luggages and fell down.

Ataman at one point shouted “let’s return to Athens” complaining about the lack of security measures on the first place.

No arrests were made and the incident was ultimately resolved.

Players of the Greens looking to go to their respective rooms and rest were visibly concerned by the situation.

Many traveled to the capital of Germany with their families, including Mathias Lessort who tried to calm down his scared kid.

Τhe end of the story at least between Ataman and the German police came a couple of hours later. The German policeman who pushed Ergin Ataman returned to the EuroLeague hotel and apologized, explaining that he just wanted to keep his distance and nothing more. Coach Ataman accepted the apology and the whole incident was officially over.

Panathinaikos and Fenerbahce are set to clash in the Semifinals of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four. The matchup is scheduled for Friday in Uber Arena.
