After weeks of rumors that saw him linked to several EuroLeague powerhouses, including the interest of Panathinaikos in search of a replacement under the rim, Jilson Bango finally has a new team.
It’s the case of Fenerbahce, who announced the acquisition of the 26-year-old athletic big until the end of the 2026-27 season.
The Angolan center was living a great season thus far with Casademont Zaragoza, averaging 13.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 0.9 assists, and 0.6 blocks in the ACB; he also had 13.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 0.5 assists, and 0.8 blocks in the FIBA Europe Cup.

However, the peak of his 2024-2025 campaign occurred in December, being named ACB Player of the Month after averaging 19.6 points – shooting 64.2% from two -, 7.0 rebounds, and 23.4 efficiency rating.
Debuting with the senior side of the Angolan national team back in 2019, he recently participated in the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament held in Spain, averaging a double-double of 13.0 points and 10.5 rebounds over two appearances.
With Angola, he was also one victory away from making it to the Olympics played in Paris this past summer, losing to South Sudan in their last game of the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
