Euroleague Basketball shares the latest disciplinary decisions, including a one-game suspension on Mario Hezonja of Real Madrid

The latest disciplinary decisions announced by Euroleague Basketball stretch from a suspension and a fine issued on Real Madrid’s Mario Hezonja to Panathinaikos Aktor and head coach Ergin Ataman, and Zalgiris issued with fines.

The decisions concerning Hezonja and Ataman can be appealed, as noted in a press release on Wednesday.

The incidents leading to the penalties occurred in Rounds 23 and 24 of the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season.

Per the press release:

Round 23

  • Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens has been sanctioned with a fine of €2,000 for generated by its fans during the game between Panathinaikos and Zalgiris Kaunas, under Article 29.2.g) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
  • Zalgiris Kaunas has been sanctioned with a fine of €2,000 for incidents generated by its fans during the game between Panathinaikos and Zalgiris, under Article 29.2.g) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
  • Coach Ergin Ataman of Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens has been sanctioned with a fine of €6,000 for failure to comply with referees’ instructions during the game between Panathinaikos and Zalgiris Kaunas, under Article 27.2.c) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code. This decision may be appealed before the Appeals Judge.

Round 24

  • Mario Hezonja of Real Madrid has been sanctioned with a one game suspension and a fine of €5,000 for lack of respect towards the referees during the game between AS Monaco and Real Madrid, under Article 27.2.b) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code. This decision may be appealed before the Appeals Judge.
