Barcelona big man Jan Vesely will be out of action for at least 8 to 10 weeks, the club announced. The Czech veteran will most likely miss the remainder of the EuroLeague regular season that finishes in April 11.
Vesely has been suffering from an osteochondral injury in his right knee that has already kept him sidelined since early January. The former EuroLeague MVP will undergo conservative treatment to recover.
Before his injury, Vesely was averaging 9.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the 14th EuroLeague season of his career. He had 7.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the Spanish ACB League.
Barcelona is currently 14-11 in the EuroLeague and 10-9 in Spain.
