Baskonia‘s point guard, Kamar Baldwin, went on national team duty during the final 2025 EuroBasket qualifying window to represent Georgia, but did not make an appearance due to injury.
As the Spanish side officially announced, Baldwin suffered a hyperextension in his right foot last Thursday during a training session with the Georgia national team.
The medical tests conducted by the club’s medical services upon his return to Vitoria-Gasteiz revealed an injury to the metatarsophalangeal joint of the first toe.
Baskonia added that the player’s daily progress will determine when he can return to the team. However, Spanish media outlet El Correo reports that Baldwin will not be available for at least either of this week’s two games, with his progress still pending. Noticias de Alava indicates he could be out for at least two weeks.
The US guard, who holds a Georgian passport, has made 24 EuroLeague appearances for Pablo Laso’s team this season, averaging 7.2 points and 3.7 assists.
Baskonia is set to face Partizan in Belgrade on February 28th, returning to the EuroLeague after the national team break.
