How effective Sasha Vezenkov can be comes from the opposite end of the eternal enemies in Greece and Kendrick Nunn

Talking about being named Most Valuable Player of February in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Kendrick Nunn of Panathinaikos Aktor shared some praise for Sasha Vezenkov of Olympiacos.

“He’s a great player, and most importantly, he’s a great person. Just the little time of knowing him and just watching him play, what he does is amazing, it’s unique. Nobody does it like he does, to be honest. He’s very effective without being ball-dominant, which is pretty rare in basketball. Not a lot of guys do it,” he mentioned during the official MVP of the Month interview, “His talent is obvious.”

The 29-year-old guard also opened up about how he missed more monthly nods and promised additional awards down the stretch of the 2024-25 edition of Europe’s premier club continental competition. More questions ranged from his connections with the supporters of the Greens to dribbling practices and taking over in clutch moments.

“It reminds me of Michael Jordan-type vibes,” he jokingly noted on fans making tattoos of him since he joined Panathinaikos early in the 2023-24 season and especially after leading the storied club to the EuroLeague championship in May.

Before Nunn, Vezenkov was named MVP of January. LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne’s Theo Maledon stood out in December, Paris’s T.J. Shorts II was the November MVP, and FC Barcelona’s Kevin Punter secured the first nod for October.

With six games remaining in the Regular Season, the team coached by Ergin Ataman ranks third with an 18-10 record being 2.5 games shy of leader Olympiacos and two games safe in the top-six zone leading directly to the 2025 Playoffs.
