Olympiacos remains on top of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague standings, and Partizan’s effort was not enough for a road win.
The Reds, during the game in which they celebrated one century since the club’s institution, got an easy 82-70 win, improving their league-best record to 21-7.
Sasa Vezenkov, with 17 points, and Nikola Milutinovi, with 10 points and nine rebounds, were the first among equals.
Saben Lee, in his first game with Olympiacos, had two rebounds and two assists in nine minutes of action.
“I don’t think we gave our best effort tonight, but it’s important to win games now, especially with a team like Partizan”, admitted coach Giorgos Bartzokas, referring to nine made threes in 29 attempts.
Partizan got 17 points from Carlik Jones and dropped to a 15-13 record, remaining tied with Milan and Barcelona between the 8th and the 10th spot of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague standings.
Easy night for Olympiacos
Olympiacos started the game firing at all cylinders, leading 27-18 after the first period and then with a 10-2 run creating a 17-point distance (37-20).
Partizan reacted with eight unanswered points (37-28), however, Olympiacos kept things in check and closed the first half up by 14 (46-32), having great offensive efficiency and not even one player scoring in double digits.
The dominance of Olympiacos continued with the lead extending to 20 points (57-37), and things didn’t change much until the end.
Partizan trimmed the lead to 13 points (64-51) at the end of the third period and even made it an 11-point game (64-53), but Olympiacos kept things in check until the end.
