Kendrick Nunn, the EuroLeague February MVP, praised Sasa Vezenkov on his official EuroLeague interview, and Vezenkov himself, getting before the game against Partizan his January MVP award, returned the favour.
As the Olympiacos star said after the final buzzer to Nova TV: “I’ve said it many times, we have nothing to separate between us. We fight for our team, and we both want the same trophies. But the most important thing is for our team to win. He’s a great player and an excellent person, and I also wanted the February award, but it was his turn”.
After all, a big showdown is coming with Olympiacos hosting Panathinaikos next week, and Vezenkov is ready for the challenge: “Let’s concentrate, they’re coming for the victory in the next round, they also won the Greek Cup, we need this match”.
As for the victory against Partizan?
“It was important for us to win for the celebration of 100 years of history, for our fans, for our family. We played against a team that was 8-2 before this game, they had rhythm. We played excellent defense, except for the last five minutes, when the game was almost decided. We don’t look at the score; we just keep fighting,” were Vezenkov’s words.
