Fenerbahce perfectly completed the EuroLeague double-game week, winning against Paris Basketball at the final buzzer and then getting over Baskonia. With this victory, they not only managed to clinch home-court advantage in the upcoming Playoffs, but also gained the first place in the standings.
After the game, Sarunas Jasikevicius commented about his team’s performance. “A lot of ups and downs during the game. It seems like when you have things done and you maybe start relaxing too early, this can happen very quickly in the EuroLeague,” he said.
“We can’t be happy with the fourth quarter, we have to kill teams. But when you take both games in a double-game week in the EuroLeague, you gotta be happy.”
In the post-game press conference, the Lithuanian mastermind was also asked about the possibility of a new NBA Europe league thanks to FIBA’s contribution. “I don’t know how to answer. There is so much uncertainty, nobody knows what’s going on, nobody knows,” he first answered.
“The rumors are what they are. It’s really nothing clear, everything is a speculation. It doesn’t make sense to speculate at this point,” Fenerbahce‘s head coach continued.
