Nigel Hayes-Davis scored 24 points and led the charge as Fenerbahce closed the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague regular season with a road win.

The Turkish side beat Bayern Munich 89-77 with four more players – Biberovic, Melli, Baldwin, and McCollum – scoring 11 points each.

Carsen Edwards had 26 points for the home side, and Devin Booker added 15, but they couldn’t save the day.

Thanks to this result, Fenerbahce secured the second spot in the standings with a 23-11 record, while Bayern dropped to 19-15 and most probably will compete in the Play-Ins.

Fenerbahce in control

Fenerbahce opened the first period with a 28-13 lead and extended it to 24 points (43-19) with five minutes left in the first half by shooting 72,2% in two-pointers and 61,5% in threes.

On the other side, Bayern started with just one made three in nine attempts and didn’t know what it hit them. Still, with a three by Nick Weiler-Babb, just the second made of Bayern in the game, the hosts managed to trim the halftime lead of Fenerbahce to 15 points (46-31), closing the second quarter with a 12-3 run.

Bayern made it a 13-point game (48-35) at the start of the second half, but Fenerbahce reacted, getting back to a 20-point advantage (62-42) as Hayes-Davis reached the 20-point mark.

The two teams entered the final period with the score 68-52 in favor of the guests, and Bayern managed to trim the lead to six points (77-71) with three minutes left after a three by Edwards, who finally heated up after scoring nine points in the first three quarters.

Still, Fenerbahce wasn’t rattled, pushing the lead back to 10 (81-71) after two free throws by Wade Baldwin and the first made shot of Marko Guduric in the game and stopped the bleeding the right moment.
