Nikola Mirotic, with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 40 PIR, plus Zach LeDay with 32 points, saved the best for last, and it was not enough.

Milan got the 111-89 win over Baskonia, as both teams knew that this was their last game of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season.

Both missed the postseason. Still, Milan, with a 17-17 record, was near the finish line almost until the very end.

‘We did this for ourselves, our fans, ‘ said to EuroLeague TV Mirotic, who will probably be named MVP of the week.

On the other hand, Baskonia, with a 14-20 record, is just two spots lower but has to think a lot in the summer.

Luka Samanic, with 17 points and seven rebounds, was the best from the losing team.

A one-team show

With both teams already out of the postseason, things clicked for Milan, which put on a show for their fans.

After being up by 13 (31-18) in the first period, the Italians, with a partial 27-9 score, jumped to a 58-27 lead, extending their advantage to 31 points.

The halftime score was 62-35, with the hosts shooting 68,8% in threes (11/16) and keeping their distance.

After back-to-back threes by Mirotic and LeDay, the lead extended to 33 points (77-44) after five minutes in the second half, and the game was practically over.
