Paris needed the win, hoping to avoid the Play-Ins, and got it without much drama.
The French side beat ALBA Berlin 72-63 and improved their record to 19-15, hoping for the best and waiting for the other results.
TJ Shorts had 10 points and seven assists with no turnovers on a night in which he didn’t need to do more, while Nadir Hifi with 15 points and Mikael Jantunen also with 15 were the top scorers of the winning side.
ALBA finished the season with the worst record in the league (5-29), and it remains to be seen if the club will be part of the EuroLeague next season.
Justin Bean had 14 points for the losing side.
Paris dominating
Paris controlled things from wire to wire. The home side opened the game with a 22-14 first-quarter lead, extended their cushion to 17 points (32-15) with a 10-1 run in the second quarter.
ALBA didn’t surrender, but that was not enough.
Paris had a solid 46-31 halftime advantage and pushed it to 21 points (60-39) at the end of the third period, keeping the Germans to just eight points in 10 minutes of action.
The game was over, and Paris cruised until the end letting the Germans trim the final point difference.
