George Hinas penned a contract extension with Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv.

Before the 2024-25 season, the experienced Greek executive signed a two-year contract and was appointed general manager. The new deal lasts until the end of the 2027-28 season, the Israeli club announced on Tuesday.

“I am thrilled to extend my contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv for two more years,” said Hinas, “I want to thank team owner Ofer Yannay for his trust in me. His vision leads us to success. I also want to thank team CEO Tzhaki Reichenstein for his professionalism and dedication. He is the person who ensures optimal conditions and allows the basketball division to operate at the highest level. My gratitude also goes to head coach Dimitris Itoudis for his deep commitment to our project, his uncompromising leadership, on and off the court. A big thank you to management, players, staff of the basketball division, and all club employees for their daily work full of dedication and professionalism. And to Hapoel Tel Aviv fans, thank you for your support in both victories and tough moments.”

“We have started building a winning team and we will continue to fight for Hapoel, with devotion and love,” he added, “Yalla Hapoel!”

A former Basketball Champions League champion as the general manager of AEK, the assignment with the team based in Tel Aviv extended success to winning the 2024-25 installment of the BKT EuroCup and punching in a ticket for the next edition of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

At the domestic level, a 22-3 tally in the Winner League leads to a total of 46 points. With one game left in the Regular Season, his side is tied with Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv at the top of the standings.
