Crvena Zvezda had to finish the EuroLeague regular season and play the Play-Ins without one of their key players, as Joel Bolomboy suffered a foot injury on March 13, during Round 29 against Olimpia Milano.
The EuroLeague’s top rebounder has yet to return to the court. The Belgrade club has now announced that he will undergo additional medical examinations in the United States.
“KK Crvena zvezda Meridianbet informs the public that our center, Joel Bolomboy, has traveled to the United States for additional medical examinations, with the club’s approval.
The club will provide timely updates regarding Joel Bolomboy’s health exclusively through its official platforms,” the Belgrade club announced.
Bolomboy had previously dealt with a knee injury in late October that kept him off the court for two months, limiting him to just 18 regular season appearances in the EuroLeague.
Still, he was one of the best players on Ioannis Sfairopoulos’ team when available, averaging 10.2 points and a EuroLeague-best 8.3 rebounds, along with a PIR of 16.6 per game.
