Olympiacos Piraeus coach Giorgos Bartzokas provided an update on the condition of Evan Fournier ahead of Game 4 of the EuroLeague playoffs against Real Madrid.
“I hope that [he’ll be ready for Game 4],” Bartzokas said after Olympiacos‘ 80 – 72 loss to Real Madrid in Game 3 of the series. “He was feeling pain. He tried to practice this morning. He sprained his ankle in Game 2 vs. Real. Hopefully, we’ll have him on Thursday. We’ll see, day by day.”
Olympiacos suffered their first loss in the quarterfinals that are now 2-1. After leading 44 – 36 at halftime, the Reds scored 24 points in the rest of the game to finish with their third-lowest scoring output in 2024-25.
“Congratulations to Real Madrid. They played really hard and really better than the two previous games. Obviously, they didn’t want to be out of the EuroLeague. For us, it was very important to play better than what we played in the second half. We turned over the ball 10 times during this period. All of these times, we gave them transition points. We just need to secure, protect the ball and execute with flaw and speed. We didn’t make it and that’s why we didn’t even score 30 points in the second half.”
