Especially considering Gabriel Deck’s absence, Alberto Abalde had to step up for Chus Mateo’s team in Game 4, trying to help Real Madrid force Game 5 to return to Greece.
The Spanish forward had a significant performance on both ends of the floor, finishing with 7 points, 7 assists, 3 steals, and 2 rebounds – but missed the three-pointer to win it.
In the aftermath, he stopped by in the mixed zone to reflect on that important shot. “Evidently it’s a tough moment, because we were very close. I had the last shot. Honestly, I saw it going in, and I’ll probably be thinking about it all night long,” he commented.
“He tenido el último tiro, sinceramente lo he visto dentro y voy a estar toda la noche pensando en ello”

“But the team has fought until the end. The beginning of the second half penalized us, because they raised their level. They got the advantage, and they increased it even more. We tried to get one last option.”
For the fourth consecutive campaign, Olympiacos will play in the EuroLeague Final Four. On the other end, it’s the first time since 2020-21 that Real Madrid won’t play in the biggest event of the year.
