Panathinaikos Athens swingman Cedi Osman was heavily booed by fans of his former team against Anadolu Efes in Game 4 of the EuroLeague playoffs but didn’t mind that much.

What really bothered him was the chants by Efes fans against Panathinaikos coach Ergin Ataman.

“They boo me, I don’t care,” Osman said after the game. “But what they did to coach Ataman, who has won two EuroLeague titles with this team, I think that was really disrespectful toward him. I don’t care about me. They can boo me, they can do whatever they want. But it was a real disgrace what they did to coach Ataman.”

“It was bullshit,” Osman added.

Ataman, the coach of Efes durign the back-to-bach championship run of 2021 and 2022, heard chants against him near the end of the game. He got frustrated and left for the locker room before the match was over.

Panathinaikos assistant coach Christos Serelis replaced Ataman in both the post-game flash interview and press conference.

Osman led his team in scoring with a season-high 22 points in the loss that tied the series 2-2. Game 5 will be hosted by Panathinaikos in OAKA Tuesday.
