In Game 4 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague playoff series, Anadolu Efes defeated Panathinaikos, but tensions flared in the final moments between head coach Ergin Ataman and the home crowd.

Efes fans chanted “Ergin Ataman, call a timeout” at the Panathinaikos coach. In response, Ataman pointed to the trophies and success he had brought to the club over the years, before heading to the locker room.

As the incident continues to draw attention, Anadolu Efes forward Derek Willis shared his thoughts.

To be fair on Ataman he has brought Efes a lot of glory in recent years. My family hoped he won last year with the loss of his father and we thought this would be amazing for him to have the championship. He brings entertainment to the series so please show him the respect“, Willis wrote on social media.

The Playoff series is tied at 2-2, and decisive Game 5 is scheduled to be played at OAKA Arena (06/05).
